Sustainable crew socks

Sustainability

We strive to make crew socks with cool designs in premium quality, sure. But it is also very important to us how we do that as we are very aware of our social responsibility. That's why we take great care to do things in a sustainable and environmentally conscious way.

It is clear that we are only at the beginning of our journey and are still far from being perfect. We are learning every day and are happy to contribute to a more sustainable future of e-commerce by making conscious decisions.

We are just at the beginning of our journey and are of course far from perfect. The most important thing for us is that we are learning every day and are ready to take responsibility.

But how do our crew socks and sustainability fit together?

Organic cotton is a key part in our material mix

Most of the socks in our collection are made of cotton, more specifically organic cotton.

We want to avoid the use of insecticides and pesticides. Did you know that growing conventional cotton uses about 7% of the pesticides and 16% of the insecticides used globally.

The cultivation of organic cotton takes place without the use of chemical pesticides. Thus, it does not damage the soil, emits far fewer harmful emissions, and also requires on average 88% less water and 62% less energy.

You can find out more about organic cotton here.

We avoid plastic waste

Throughout our value and supply chain, we eliminate plastic wherever we can. We ship our products to you in recycled, eco-friendly boxes or in 100% compostable shipping bags. We avoid the use of individual packaging. We do not attach our labels with plastic clips but sew them on. If something ever needs to be printed (yes, sometimes it's unavoidable, unfortunately), we do so on recycled paper, grass or natural fibre products.

Our partners share the same mindset

It is important to us that our partners share our mindset. Therefore we take the time to check this. For this we like to invest more time in the selection process. We work with selected suppliers in Europe and Asia. While Europe offers us regional proximity, in Asia we support local companies and thus contribute a small part to the development of this continent. Our focus here is on smaller companies. Often these are still family-owned. Compliance with internationally recognized standards such as amfori BSCI or GOTS is our top priority and is, of course, regularly monitored. Because social standards and fair working conditions along the entire value chain are our top priority.

Environmentally friendly delivery

When ordering through our website, you will receive your goods via the DHL GoGreen environmental protection program. This means that your order will not only reach you safely and quickly, but will also make a positive contribution to climate protection. Follow this link for more information about the GoGreen program of our partner DHL.

Our goal: Support social projects

KYU.ONE is a hobby for us. From the beginning, it was clear to us: we also want to give something back as soon as we generate an income. Therefore, our goal is to promote social projects that really make a difference. We are currently looking for potential projects in Asia and here in our home country to invest a part of our profits in the future where they make a difference.
